Stream more TV with the Roku Familiy!
Watching TV is continuously being made easier and easier, with streaming players like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV. Cable television is no longer necessary, especially because of services like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, and Sling TV. What makes it better is that now, Roku has added five streaming players to its collection. You now have options ranging from $30 to $130. Accessing US-only movies and TV shows from all over the world is possible.
Roku Express & Roku Express+
Starting at $30, the Roku Express is now the least expensive streaming player on the market. The Roku Express is a replacement for the Roku 1. It is smaller by 75% and can stream 1080p HD. It is also faster than the previous Roku 1, which means that the Roku OS will be more responsive. You will connect the Roku Express to you TV via HDMI port. For $30, it makes it hard not to choose.
What if your TV does not support HDMI? $10 more will score you the Roku Express+, a TV streaming player designed for older TVs. With the use of the Express+, you are essentially converting your older TV to a smart TV.
Roku Streaming Stick
Considered one of the best streaming sticks out, the Roku Streaming Stick is a preferred choice among many. The Roku Streaming Stick was redesigned and released in April 2016. It is now smaller and slimmer than the previous stick. Its small size makes it easy to fit behind your TV. It also features a powerful quad-core processor, making it faster to switch between channels. Not to mention, it is super portable. Switching between TVs in your home or taking it with you on your travels is easy as well.
Roku Premiere & Roku Premiere+
Roku designed the Roku Premiere and Premiere+ for those of us that care more about higher picture quality. Both the Roku Premiere and Premiere+ will have support for 4K video. However, to watch movies or shows in 4K, you will need a 4K TV. The Roku Premiere+ has a bonus feature which adds HDR capabilities. HDR is supposed to improve the picture quality even more. In addition to HDR, the Premiere+ comes with an Ethernet port, ideal to use if your Wi-Fi is not the best. The Premiere and Premiere+ cost $80 and $100, respectively.
Roku Ultra
Last but certainly not least, the Roku Ultra. The best streaming player Roku has to offer. The Ultra has everything the Premiere+ has, plus more. You will find more ports including microSD, digital audio out for receivers and soundbars, and a USB port. The remote for the Ultra has a headphone jack for private listening and voice search support. You can also use the remote to play games being that it comes with dedicated gaming buttons. If you misplace the remote, no worries. Press the lost remote button on the Ultra, and you would find it in a jiffy. For $130, you are in for a treat.
